Having a new baby is tough, and one of the most difficult parts of it is all the stuff you need to buy. We're here to help. We've tested dozens of the best strollers, baby monitors, baby bottles, and more this year, all to find the best products for you and your family.

While our guides won't cover everything you need, our picks will get you started, and they're the same products we use with our own children. So without further adieu, here are the best parenting products we tested in 2017.

Best Stroller: Baby Jogger City Mini

Product image of Baby Jogger City Mini

We have tested more than 30 strollers this year, and the best by far is the Baby Jogger City Mini. Costing just a hair over $200, the City Mini is lightweight, adaptable to a wide range of car seats, and it can be folded with one hand (and a baby in the other).

Easy to push, highly maneuverable, and offering just enough storage for most people, the City Mini is everything we want in a single, standard stroller. Read our review.

Best Stroller for the Money: Chicco Viaro

Product image of Chicco Viaro

The Chicco Viaro has nearly everything we love about the Baby Jogger City Mini in a cheaper package. Though we prefer the City Mini overall, the Viaro adapts easily to fit Chicco's popular KeyFit 30 car seats, also folds easily with a single hand, and it drops well below $200 on sale.

Add it up and you have one of the best bargains around. If you have a baby on the way and you want to save some money (who doesn't?) we highly recommend giving the Viaro a spin. Read our review.

Best Tablet for Kids: Kindle Fire 7 for Kids

Product image of Amazon Fire Kids Edition 7" (16 GB)

Amazon's Kindle Fire 7 for Kids was, without question, the best kid-friendly tablet that we tested this year. Though we looked at much more expensive, proprietary models from other popular manufacturers, the Kindle Fire 7 for Kids offers the best combination of size, features, and price of anything on the market.

And with a replacement policy that is truly "no questions asked" (we returned one, they didn't ask what happened), it's got you covered when disaster inevitably strikes. Read our review.

Best Headphones for Kids: Puro Sound Labs BT2200

Product image of Puro Sound Labs BT2200 Kids Headphones

You may not know this, but your basic pair of earbuds—even the cheap ones that come with your phone—can get dangerously loud. So loud, in fact, that prolonged exposure can harm your kids' hearing permanently.

We tested all the most popular volume-limiting headphones on the market to see which ones actually held up, and the best of the best was easily the Puro BT2200. If you want headphones to keep your kids' hearing safe and the volume in check, these are the ones to get. Read our review.

Best Cameras for Kids: Fujifilm Instax

Product image of Fujifilm Instax Mini 9

Photography is an incredibly fun hobby for kids to get into, and there's no better way to get into it than with an affordable film camera. The Fujifilm Instax cameras are fun, easy to use, usually cost less than $75, and perfect for beginners.

If your kids are showing an interest in photography but could use a little time away from your iPhone, check out the Fujifilm Instax. We don't think you'll be disappointed. Read our review.

Best Video Baby Monitor: Samsung BabyView

Product image of Samsung BabyView SEW-3053W

We've tested more than a dozen of the top video baby monitors in the past couple of years, and it's no contest: the Samsung BabyView is the best that we've seen. For less than $200 you get a monitor with exceptional range, a large touchscreen, great night vision, and useful features like a temperature sensor.

Best of all, the newest model has added Wi-Fi, meaning you can access the camera with an app on your phone. And because Wi-Fi is just an optional extra, your camera won't stop working just because there's a hiccup in your home network. It's the best of both worlds. Read our review.

Best Audio Baby Monitor: VTech Safe & Sound DM221

Product image of VTech DM221

If you don't feel the need to see your baby at night and just want to hear when they start crying, an audio monitor is a perfect solution. The VTech Safe & Sound DM221 is the best all-around monitor we tested.

It had all the features we wanted in an audio monitor, it had enough range to cover an entire 4-story home (even in the basement), and it can be had for just $30 on sale. If you just want an audio monitor, the DM221 is a no-brainer. Read our review.
